How do I get started?
You will need to download Skype. This will cost you nothing to download or to use. Your teacher will also have Skype and once you are connected you will be able to speak to each other. If you have a webcam, you and your teacher will also be able to see each other and this will make your lessons much more enjoyable. You will also need a printer so that you can print the notes that you will receive for each lesson. These notes will build into a useful reference as you progress with your lessons.
Who will teach me?
Once you have made the decision to learn with CHOOSE ENGLISH, you will meet your teacher who will contact you directly by email. You can be assured that your teacher will be fully qualified to teach you all you need to know about the English language online.
What will I learn?
Your teacher will ask you to complete a simple questionnaire that will assess your level of English, your interests and your reasons for learning. Lessons are always flexible and your teacher will adapt the lessons to suit your level and progress. We guarantee to teach you proper English, without dialect, and to place emphasis on both the spoken and the written language.
How many lessons do i need?
Because each student is unique, the number of lessons you will need depends on your ability and progress. In your first course of 10 lessons, your tutor will help you to build the confidence you need to practise and perfect your pronunciation, reading, listening and speaking skills. In a further course of 10 lessons, you will improve your comprehension and conversation skills. You choose how many lessons you want.
Will I need to buy books?
You will receive notes and reading materials for each of your lessons. If you print and keep your notes, they will build into a useful reference for your future learning. You do not need to buy any books for your course unless you are studying for an exam and the examining body has recommended a specific book. Of course, we always recommend that you read English books whenever you can.
Will I receive feedback on my progress?
Your teacher will give feedback after every lesson and at the end of your chosen course. If you require a report of your progress, we can arrange to provide that for you.
How do I arrange lessons?
To arrange lessons, click on Contact Us, fill in the required information on the enquiry form and submit it to us. We will reply to you within 12 hours.
What will it cost?
Your 1 hour, 1-1 lessons could cost you as little as £10 per hour if you arrange a course of 10 lessons and pay in advance. Click on Fees for more information about the cost of our lessons.
CAN I HAVE A FREE LESSON?
We do not give free lessons. We arrange the subject matter and materials that we use around your specific needs and interests, so your first lesson will be ‘getting to know you’, establishing the areas that need work and improvement in order to help you to achieve your goals. Our courses are not pre-arranged and so it would be impossible to give a free lesson that would be of any benefit to you, the student. We can, however, offer those who are interested a 15 minutes online consultation, free of charge, where you can meet your tutor and discuss any issues related to online learning that might concern you. After the consultation, you will receive feedback from your tutor and suggestions for your learning requirements. Just click on Contact Us and send us your request to arrange an online consultation.
How do I pay?
Payment is made using PAYPAL, which is a secure online method of payment. CHOOSE ENGLISH will issue an invoice for payment, which will be sent to your email address. You do not need to have an account with Paypal, just a bank card to make your payment. Paypal will convert our payment request into your currency.
